Jyotirao Phule Shetkari Karj Mukti Yojana | Opposition Stance
Former CM and current Leader of Opposition, Devendra Fadnavis alleged that the government has not fulfilled its original promise of full debt waiver. He questioned the failure to provide financial assistance of Rs 25,000 per hectare to farmers, who suffered losses due to unseasonal rains.
Fadnavis and other BJP MLAs then walked out in protest against Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s debt waiver scheme. Apart from this, Devendra Fadnavis also alleged that the scheme would benefit very few farmers as most of them were already included in their government’s CSMSSY 2017 scheme. He said that the government is cheating the farmers as it is not offering full loan waiver.
