PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana
The newly elected Government of India has expanded the scope of the Prime Minister Farmer Fund Scheme and now all the farmer families will be covered. Now under PM Kisan Yojna, about 15 crore farmers will get Rs 6,000 in financial support in 3 equal installments (Rs 2000 each). This decision was taken in the first cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Modi 2.0) held on May 31, 2019 for expansion of PM KIsan plan.
Under the PM Farmer Scheme, direct installments will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the farmers.
In the PM KIsan scheme phase 2, all the farmers, including the landless laborers of Central Govt will be included. In the past only those farmers whose land was less than 2 hectares (5 acres) were eligible, but this time, the land boundary has been removed.
PM Kisan Yojana extended for all farmers
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has announced the decision on expansion of the PM Kisan Award Fund Scheme. Earlier, about 12 crore farmers were covered under the PM Farmer Scheme and two crore farmers were left. But now all the farmers will be included in PM Farmer’s scheme list of beneficiaries.
It was estimated that about Rs 75,000 crore would be spent on this PM Kisan plan but this time, an additional 12,000 crore would be spent. This time, the total cost for the implementation of the PM Kisan Award fund scheme is about Rs 87,000 crore.
